With a firm foundation in the first 6 years, the child at this age is ready to explore with his mind in many directions, so the materials selected here strive to provide inspiration and a balance of disciplines. The materials for age 6-12 are centered around the five "great lessons": the creation of the solar system and earth, the evolution of plants and animals, the coming of humans and development of cultures and languages, and the development of math/science. Many of the basic materials are made during Montessori teacher training and those manufactured are expensive and of no value to those without the training. However we supply many of the materials that support these studies in the Montessori classroom, the traditional classroom, the homeschooling environment, and the home. Many of the materials used in the 3-6 sections of this website are also used by the child from 6-12.
