The sturdy plastic pin compass (direction pointer rests on a pin in the center of the compass) is mounted in a bright red wooden frame and hangs from a brightly colored cord. It can hang in the classroom or around the neck for hiking. The kompass comes in a metal box which also contains a little book with directions on using a compass. To give an idea of the size, the box is 3" x 3" x 1.3".
